Finding the line between being a caring professional and protecting your own space is difficult. In this session, we provide the actual words and techniques to help you hold firm, respectful boundaries, ensuring you can support others effectively without burning yourself out.

  • No entry requirement

We move past the theory and give you a tactical “Boundary Toolkit”:

  • Friendly vs. Friend: Learn the essential shift in mindset that allows you to be warm and empathetic without losing your professional footing.
  • The Script for “No”: Actual phrases you can use to decline inappropriate requests from clients or families without sounding cold or uncaring.
  • Spotting “Boundary Creep”: Recognize the subtle signs that a professional relationship is becoming too personal before it becomes a problem.
  • Digital Boundaries: How to handle social media friend requests, late-night texts, and phone calls from clients.
  • The “Compassionate Exit”: How to wrap up a session on time when a client is still talking, without making them feel dismissed.

Students must attend the training session.

By the end of this 30-minute session, you will be able to:

  1. Differentiate between a supportive professional relationship and a personal friendship.
  2. Use three “Standard Responses” to maintain boundaries under pressure.
  3. Identify your personal “Boundary Triggers” and create a plan to protect them.
  4. Certificate of Attainment.
  • New Support Workers finding their feet.
  • Experienced Carers feeling “drained” by client demands.
  • Sole Traders managing their own schedules and client expectations.

Protect your space so you can continue to provide great care.
