HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the nationally recognised minimum standard for workplace first aid compliance. This course equips you with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to respond effectively to a range of first aid situations, offering immediate care until professional medical assistance is available.

  • Student must be 18 years and over
  • 2 hours of hands-on practical training (face-to-face workshop)

  • Self-paced learning with assessments to complete in your own time

Students must attend the training session.

Throughout this course, you will develop the capability to:

  • Recognise and assess emergencies quickly and accurately
  • Prioritise safety for yourself, bystanders, and casualties
  • Contact and coordinate with emergency services
  • Perform CPR in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines
  • Deliver first aid according to established principles and best practice
  • Provide respectful and ethical care, including obtaining consent when possible
    Maximise comfort using available resources and equipment
  • Safely operate first aid equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions
  • Monitor casualty condition and adapt your response appropriately
  • Communicate effectively with emergency services and workplace personnel
  • Accurately document incidents in line with workplace or site procedures
  • Uphold confidentiality in accordance with legal and organisational standards
  • Recognise the psychological impacts on yourself and others, and know when to seek support
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews, helping to improve future responses

By the end of this training, you will be prepared to act with confidence in a first aid emergency, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care in line with Australian standards.
